Mr. Gary Xu, CTO of aitos.io held a dialogue with Generation Z from Singapore to create a way forward for a sustainable Web 3.0

Web 3.0, also known as the Decentralized Web, represents the latest generation of Internet applications and services powered by distributed ledger technology. The areas impacted by the evolution from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 are ranging from retail to medical and FinTech and more, from micro-businesses to large corporations. It is, however, not a new concept.

Gary Xu, aitos.io CTO got together with Frank Wang, CTO of Mask networks, other entrepreneurs, and the young scientists and research teams in Singapore in Web3.0 Deep Dive panel discussion

On December 10th, during a Business China Web3.0 panel session, aitos.io CTO Gary Xu got together with Frank Wang, CTO of Mask networks, other entrepreneurs, and the young scientists and research teams in Singapore pay close attention to cutting-edge technologies. The panel brings the audiences a fresh new perspective of the Web3.0 era and prepares them for the new generation of learning and business.

Gen Z, faced with increasingly serious global environmental problems, including threats to sustainable development, is keen to create a way forward for a sustainable Web3.0.

Gen Z, natives of Web3.0, has been known to be strong advocates for environmental sustainability and keen to create a way forward for a sustainable Web 3.0. Gary Xu noted that IoT and blockchain technologies play a vital role in promoting the development of Web3.0. When comparing earlier versions, starting with Web 1.0, the aim was mainly a ‘read-only’ web page, primarily solving the problem of static content propagation. Web 2.0 evolved into a ‘read & write’ Internet, enhanced by Mobile Internet technology focused on enriching the connection between people. The amplified usage of multimedia communications further demonstrates convenient and powerful individual creation and group collaboration. Massive personal data remained in the hands of a few powerful giant enterprises, resulting in a lack of individual privacy and no sure way to guarantee the information could be kept safe. As we migrate into the era of Web 3.0, data will no longer be held by a few tech titans. Instead, there will be a decentralized, broad new Internet around “data value” and IoT and blockchain technology will be two essential pillars of Web3.0.

Gary emphasized that during the Web 2.0 era, IoT devices were often only regarded as data collectors. With the arrival of the Web3.0 era, we have begun to notice that the IoT is native-distributed. Massive IoT devices are distributed in all corners of the world, thus perfectly matching the concept of the Web3.0 era. With the maturing of Web 3.0, we will witness every smart IoT device, that is, a networked AI robot, will not only be a contributor to Web3.0 but will also benefit from Web3.0. The IoT devices will be key components to sustain the development of the ecology for Web3.0.

About aitos.io

aitos.io is a technology start-up focusing on the integrated innovation of IoT and Blockchain. By combining its own rich resources in the IoT industry, aitos.io has raised the standard for an open-sourced blockchain application framework BoAT (Blockchain of AI Things) with delivered via IoT chipset and module to enable IoT devices quickly implement trusted data on-chain and access the blockchain services. At the end of 2019, aitos.io and nine mainstream cellular wireless module manufacturers jointly initiated the Blockchain IoT Module alliance, and successively released their own brands of BoAT blockchain module products. This resulted in hundreds of millions of IoT devices equipped with the capability of blockchain services access as a trusted entry of IoT+Blockchain application. aitos.io’s vision is to leverage an alliance of global IoT vendors to empower them to tap the value of applications and data.

At the beginning of the project launch in the end of 2018, aitos.io received angel investment from the IoT industry expert group and strategic investment from Wanxiang Blockchain. In December 2018, aitos.io was awarded membership into ARM Accelerator Camp. In June 2019, aitos.io emerged as the founding member of China Unicom IoT and Wanxiang Blockchain IoT+Blockchain Joint Innovation Center. In November, aitos.io became a empowerment partner of Microsoft’s AI and IoT Lab . In August 2020, aitos.io transitioned into Tencent’s Blockchain Accelerator program as the first member. In February 2021, aitos.io joined RISC-V International as strategic member and initiated to form new Blockchain SIG (special interest group). In April, aitos.io initiated 1st China technical requirements standards for trusted blockchain access of IoT terminals.
