OSEW2019 (Open Source Enclaves Workshop 2019) traditionally brings together the architecture / system security community and invites different research institutions and industry groups to share the latest progress made in building open source, secure, and high-performance Secure Enclaves. It is worth mentioning that this seminar will discuss different and realistic threat models, components of secure enclaves, and best practices and cutting-edge technologies for each component, including hot topics in the field.

On July 25, 2019, at the prestigious and World-renowned University of California at Berkley, Mr. Leo Lin, who is the CEO of (and partnered with PlatON) was invited by Open Source Enclaves Workshop 2019 to deliver a speech in which he asks the question “When Intelligent IoT replaces traditional mobile Internet as the next wave, how will it permeate and how can data privacy and security be guarded? " This annual workshop was attended by a crowd of senior industry executives, experts and scholars representing the entire Internet industry.

Mr. Lin’s keynote speech was entitled "BoAT: The Future Entrance of AI Things"; those in attendance represented Who’s Who of Silicon Valley, including UC Berkeley scholars, Google, ARM, Intel, NVIDIA, VISA, Oasis Labs, and HTC plus representatives from other well-known universities and enterprises in the open source security field. There was an in-depth and free-flowing exchange of ideas and possibilities.

During his speech, Mr. Lin referenced a recent "Global IoT Device Data Report" which forecasts that with the arrival in 2025 of 5G wireless broadband technology, 50% of that global data will come from IoT devices, with an estimated figure totaling about 40 billion devices. This figure will probably be five times larger than the current global population. With the advent of the 5G era, the explosive growth of IoT data will become the largest data source for the entire industry in the future, and it will become a rich digital oil field…..hence, The importance of data privacy protection is growing exponentially. "

Mr. Lin detailed during this speech various important ongoing projects at to the audience "In the past 12 months, as a start-up project born of PlatON’s ecosystem incubation, has focused on the development of PlatON’s oracle for intelligent IoT devices.
