When IoT Encounters the Blockchain: Lenovo Connect enthusiastically creates a strategic partnership with aitos.io on Mar 20th, 2020
When IoT and the blockchain meet head on, can we presume to understand what kind of chain-reaction is expected to ignite both industries? The development of the IoT use cases have been building up over a long period and evolving to large-scale, yet there are still some issues that need to be overcome in order for long-term sustained development. For the past two years, Blockchain technology has become a disruptive, yet driving force for the development of IoT vertical industries. This was chiefly due to the characteristics of its "immutability", "consensus mechanism" and "decentralized nature". So, how much change will the "IoT+ Blockchain" model bring to all walks of life?
2020 will be characteristic of alliances using the Blockchain and to kick this off is the recent announcement that Lenovo Connect and aitos.io formed a strategic cooperation for the integration of IoT with the Blockchain. Both parties are enthusiastically laying out a strategic and broad-ranging plan to enhance their respective business innovation advantages in the field of IoT and Blockchain technology. As part of this broad participation, there will be a major focus on developing innovative cooperation in the areas of IoT + Blockchain end-to-end technology verification, industry partner cooperation, commercial trials and demonstration promotion. Since the respective industries are still in a relatively early integration timeframe, there is much intended discovery expected for uncovering and generating business value for this combined "IoT + Blockchain" model.
The cooperation between Lenovo Connect and aitosi.io includes jointly customizing Blockchain IoT devices, Blockchain IoT modules and technical specifications tailored to emerging vertical industries. The plan calls for jointly launching Blockchain IoT devices and Blockchain IoT modules for IoT data on-chain solutions. Lenovo Connect is introducing 4G Blockchain IoT modules developed by both parties, for the purpose of developing various use cases, including smart mobility, smart retail, smart grid, and smart office.
Lenovo Connect is a subsidiary of Lenovo Capital Group, an AIoT service provider deploying a global intelligent IoT cloud platform service. Lenovo Connect Services utilize 5G/AI and other cutting-edge technologies, and provide industry-leading eSIM technology with cross-operator cloud networking technology.
