China Unicom IoT International Symposium invited Mr. Leo Lin, CEO aitos.io to deliver an IoT discussion on "Trust to be free for a smarter future".

On June 28, 2019, a grand new strategic program was introduced to distinguished guests during the "2019 China Unicom IoT International Symposium" hosted by China Unicom IoT Co., Ltd., held in Nanjing Qinhuai District, China. This collaborative event included Government leaders, corporate representatives, international operators and industrial partners from many countries in Europe, America, Southeast Asia, South Asia and other countries and regions. The distinguished guests discussed many topics, including new trends of IoT development in the 5G era, how to solve IoT related technology problems and global use cases of current Internet of Things technology. Also discussed was the building of a new global Internet of Things ecosystem, and the goal to scale to new heights for the development of connected IoT devices.

Mr. Leo Lin, CEO of aitos.io was invited and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Trust to be free for a smarter future". Mr. Karl Weaver, now Global Business Development of aitos.io was also in attendance.

As a IoT + Blockchain technology start-up company, aitos.io focuses on trusted identity authentication and data privacy-preserving of the smart cellular IoT ecosystem by tapping the rich resources of the global IoT industry. We are in an era of connectivity of everything “Internet of Everything” , aitos.io has strategically launched a trusted framework SDK, titled the BoAT which runs on cellular modules for IoT application developers and device manufacturers, empowering IoT devices with a blockchain-based identity authentication mechanism. By marking the user data of IoT devices with privacy-based identity tags, data value exchange portals for IoT edge networks are formed from the last mile of the device.

Mr. Leo Lin of aitos.io said in the keynote speech: “Based on cellular networks, we and our partners have jointly proposed the concept of MaaS (Module as a Service). In his analogy, he detailed how the mobile internet was created by people on smartphones. A decade ago we had a solid utility where smartphones enabled always-on connectivity of mobile internet, and that evolved into a built-in payment wallet for smartphones morphing into trusted value-added applications as value was added for financial usage. Now, in the industrial economy, various connected IoT devices are considered to be machines or robots containing various types of AI implementation. These cellular connected machine or robot devices utilize modules to connect to the network. It can be noted that these cellular IoT modules could be construed as the machine’s or robot’s smartphone to connect to the Internet. With this underlying logic then, the cellular module also needs a built-in device wallet as the entry point for trusted value-added applications and data value flow of the Internet of Things.”

In 2019, we now have the era of 5G; complimenting that is the rise of “MaaS” (Module as a Service). MaaS is considered first commercial and practical implementation of the Internet of Things + the Blockchain.

During the annual 2019 GSMA Mobile World Congress Shanghai exhibition, aitos.io and Fibocom jointly demonstrated the first blockchain module implementation with a demo and announcement as the world’s first release of 5G modules with Fibocom’s FB101 and FB150 integrated IoT modules with blockchain technology. As the earliest adoption pioneer for MaaS, Fibocom’s goal is to standardize the usage of cellular IoT modules to enable other traditional consumer electronics, medical or industrial devices/machine use cases for Internet connectivity such as notebook computers, industrial monitoring, telemedicine, gateways, drones, AR / VR, etc. Enterprise customers are undergoing digital transformation in the 5G era, and a built-in blockchain module enables trusted identity authentication and data privacy-preserving.
