Introduction

During the recent FutureChina Global Forum 2021 event held in Singapore, a distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Xiao Feng, Chairman and General Manager of Wanxiang Blockchain, gave a speech noting some interesting conclusions: “Singapore’s long-term success has a lot to do with Singapore’s free port policy. In the current digital era, we need creative solutions, for example through designing digital free port, tech free port, technology buffer zone, and so on, and allows technologies to reconstruct the world order. Wanxiang Blockchain has reached a strategic cooperation agreement with JTC, a government agency under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, to build a trusted digital base for smart cities infrastructure based on the integration of “Blockchain + Internet of Things” technologies. This kick off took place on July 28th, 2021 during the opening ceremony for Singapore’s Punggol Digital District launch. Wanxiang Blockchain and the Jurong Group (JTC) announced their strategical cooperation. On July 28th, 2021, aitos.io’s Blockchain+IoT solution BoAT was unveiled during opening ceremonies for Singapore’s Punggol Digital District, together with Wanxiang Blockchain, will support Punggol Digital District to build a trusted digital foundation using IoT + Blockchain technologies and advance Singapore’s Smart City demo and Digital industry center in future.

This great undertaking to create the Punggol Digital District was the brain trust of collaborative efforts between an official agency from Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Jurong Group. This “Smart Digital District” will be equipped with advanced digital infrastructure to create an excellent innovative environment to encourage invention origination, livability, and business-friendly cooperation among cross-ecosystems to help Singapore embrace the digital age.
