Over the past two years of development efforts, Shenzhen and Singapore have promoted robust smart city cooperation efforts meticulously based on the MOU. The initial engagement leading up to today’s success started way back in June 2020. The first meeting of the executive committee was hosted by Shenzhen City and held online via video conference call, resulting in the first batch of 8 “Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation projects being signed. These projects ranged from involving electronic trade, mutual recognition of digital identities, exchange and training of scientific and technological talents, innovation and entrepreneurship, Cross-border arbitration.

As these collaboration efforts were culminating, the 2nd Singapore–China (Shenzhen) Smart City Initiative Joint Implementation Committee Meeting was being held during the morning of October 18th, in both Shenzhen & Singapore via an online video conference call. At this meeting, Shenzhen and Singapore signed four cooperation projects, including electronic invoices, 5G, IoT and Blockchain Solutions Platform , Robotics Development, Smart agriculture cooperation; and Digital Twin-enabled Solutions . It was mentioned that the designated cooperation projects are based on the steady progress leading up to the first batch of cooperation projects, combined with the positive direction of global economic development and the industrial advantages of Shenzhen and Singapore. Expectations are high to inject new vitality for bilateral cooperation and foster new opportunities.
